Synopsis
This paper presents a comparative study on the application of metadata enrichment strategies for two distinct media archives: the Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) media archive and the Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School (BFM) student film archive. While these archives serve different functions – ERR as a repository of public broadcasting content and BFM as a record of emerging film practices – both require new metadata layers to enhance accessibility, research potential, and interoperability.
